psp 3.71 m33-1 HELP

HI guys I have just bought a psp of eBay for my step son and it said it will come with 3.71 m33-1 firmware, so I?m guessing it will be custom firmware I also bought a 4 gig mem card I just kneed to know is there anything I need to download before he can play iso/cso games on there. I have read loads of forums and they just talk about upgrading or downgrading,I am just confused cos theres so much info out there

Your psp is ok,you don't need to worry about downgrading or upgrading as you already have the latest firmware,so it saves you some hassle.You can play cso or iso of games straight forward by placing them in the iso folder in your memory card(after formatting it of course).The only little thing is that you do not have the latest update,it's always advisable to have the latest update as it corrects few bugs.You can find the latest update here.Just place the update folder in the game folder of your memory card,launch it in your psp menu and follow the instructions.
