I successfuly have burnt two dvd's using anydvd, dvd shrink and nero 6. However I borrowed the DVD finding neno. Now this dvd is a previously burnt copy so I am trying to burn a copy from the burnt copy. I hope this makes sense:):) Anyways it is a little to big to fit onto a 4.7gb DVD+r it is just over 4.4gb. So I opened dvd shrink to make it slightly smaller and when it starts to analysis it gets to about 91% before saying;
DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
The error is: Failed to read from file.
The reason is: Data error (cyclic redundancy check).
Can anyone please assist with helping me burn this movie??
Cheers.

cyclic redundancy check means there is an error in the data at the end of the disc. This makes sense because if its a burned dvd, it cant be bigger than a blank dvd.

Just use Nero to do a straight Disk to Disk Copy

I don't understand how it can be too big. This is what i would try:

1. Copy the disc to your hard drive. Explore the disc, select all the files and copy to a VIDEO_TS folder on your hard drive.

2. Burn with your burning program. (it should not be too big.) If it still says it is too big, then shrink the files from the hard drive a little.

cyclic redundancy usually means dirty disc. Usually you have to clean it or check for scratches.

It's impossible for it to be too big if it's already on a burnt disc.

Use DVD Decrypter and make an image of it then burn that.
If it still has trouble then the copy is damamged

Does the copy you are trying to use as a master play all the way to the end or does it freeze up. Sounds like damaged data as stated before. If it fit on a blank before, then disc to disc copy should work. Jerry
