ok Im gonna make this post much smaller cause I just wrote a really long and specific post about my problem, but the goddang site errored me so I lost the whole post, anyways heres my problem.

I bought a PSP and it came with the version 2.11, I have been reading around here on the forums and come to an understanding that what I want is a custom firmware 1.5.
when I red posts it felt like I missed something with I probably have, and I cant really seem to find them, so if anyone got some spare time to help me out here it would be really appriciated.
so what I need help with is someone to write me a small step-by-step guide about how to make and 2.11 official into a 1.5 custom, is that not right? my goal is to play downloadable games, also please include all things I need to know, thanks on beforehand :D

Do you have a Fat or a slim psp?

You'll probably either need someone that has a psp with custom firmware on it or good skills to hardmod your battery.

do NOT upgrade past 3.50. go HERE and upgrade to the closest and lowest firmware near yours.

if you upgrade to 2.81 and higher, you will need to use game exploits to downgrade. best is to stick to 2.80 and lower.

also, you'll have to check what motherboard you have. the link above has a pic at the very top to check your psp.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

I have the old one, (not the Slim) and if I check on the motherboard without opening it it says nothing.

no, otherwise I dont htink I would have this problem, right now Im not looking for just a solution, I want a solution that does NOT require me to buy a game, and as far as I have seen, that is not a possibility

@Joel
Your only way is to get Pandora's Battery.

The guide in the link also requires Lumines, but you can just downgrade from 3.11 - saves the hassle to upgrade to 3.50.
