If anyone could help me it'd much appreciated. I'm new to this whole thing and trying not to bother all of you that hae heard and answered all these questions 1000 times.

I have a PSP with 3.4 firmware that I bought in Singapore. From what I can gather I need to upgrade this fw to 3.5 before I can downgrade it to 1.5 etc. But every link to this 3.4 to 3.5 upgrade leaves me in the same spot. When I go to activate the firmware on the psp it tells me its actually the 2.71 fw that I've downloaded and there's no point upgrading to a lower fw.

Does anyone have any idea why?

Thanks muchly for replying but it still does the same thing. Downloads no problem, PSP recognises it no worries, but it says it is version 2.71 and won't run it.

Have downloaded it in about 4 places now, same thing.

Its Frustrating..... can't even get past the first step in this new world.

Its pretty strange that every 3.5 update that I found was something completely different(2.71), don't ya reckon? There must be a reason beind that and I'd love to hear it if anyone knows.??
