Hey all, I've read a ton of forum messages on copy games originals from here and the other places on the web, and I see that most talk about using the WXripper and hotswapping. I was just wondering so by using the Kreon flashed Samsung SH-D162C (IDE) or SH-D163A (SATA) with XBox Backup Creator 2.6, you don't have to take the drive apart or anything? It seems so much easier than the other way. I'm sorry if I offend anyone by asking about this, the drives are like $75 on Ebay now and want to make sure about this before I pull the trigger. Thanks.

M8, the easiest way of backing up original games is to buy a Kreon flashed samsung. YOu can use it internally or externally in a USB enclosure.
You just need to put your game in the samsung as you would copying any other type of game. No need to mess about opening DVDs.
To copy use either Xbox Backup Creator or Schtrom and then burn with Imgburn. The stealth bit gets added to the backups automatically so don't worry about that. If you're using iXtreme then only stealth backups will work anyway!
I always used Verbatim and got 100% successful burns but I am now trying cheaper dual layer DVDs called Aone. I have done about 12 and all perefct!

Hi ArmyMedic, THANK YOU for your response, I really appreciate!!! Thank you also for serving our country!! I ordered the Samsung off E-bay. lol, I am so glad you confirmed to me that Samsung was the way to go because opening the case of three internal writers I got from Wal Mart was a nightmare. I was getting errors with WxRipper too.

ArmyMedic (and whoever else), I know my Orlando Sams Club has 50 Verbatim Dual Layer DVD R+ for $70 so not bad at all. Very interesting on the forum here about how cheap DVDs can ruin your laser with the dyes. This forum is awesome!

Re cheap DVDs...
I have mixed feelings about this. Certainly, Verbatim DVDs seem to be the best and as I said, worked for me 100% of the time. The Aone DVDs I mentioned, were recommended by my local shop as many people use these quite successfully and NO they do not have ruined lasers and I'd love to know how anyone can prove cheap DVDs do this and not some other reason!
I have been 'backing up' games on PS1, PS2 and now the 360 for many years. Whilst I have used quality media so the games work , I have also used cheaper media (which sometimes have the same dyes) to save money. Do you want to guess how many lasers I have replaced?
Yes well done a big fat ZERO. Not everyone keeps their games clean from crap, which is far more likely to damage your laser.
Don't believe everything you read and decide for yourself. It is your pocket and your laser!!!

Cool ArmyMedic, appreciate all the help!! I know what you are saying with the blank media thing for sure. lol, just you read all that stuff about Verbatims and how you should only use them. Makes you wonder. Let me know if you have Yahoo IMer (vanhalen5150a) and we can trade backups of our original games.

ArmyMedic, once I get the game copied with my Samsung, what would be next step? What would I do to add the Ixtreme? Do you have a link to that software? So pretty much that is only used to stealth your game for Xbox live purposes right? Dude, appreciate all the help.

M8 when you rip (copy) a game with either Xbox Backup Creator or Schtrom, they will stealth the game before you burn it for you automatically. No need to do anything else. I just left the default options alone. Then just burn it with Imgburn and you're ready to play. It is as easy as that!
Put your game into your Kreon drive, let Xbox Backup Creator or Schtrom (I prefer Schtrom) make the .ISO & .DVD files (you usually specify where you want it saving) and then choose the .DVD file with Imgburn and burn it with your dual layer burner onto a blank dual layer DVD. That's all you need to do.
Some people here suggest changing some setting in these programs. I left the default options alone and 100% successful copies! I have 50+ games to prove it! Have a go....

Dude, awesome man!! Thank you dude, much appreciated!! At some forums, a lot of people don't want to help a new person out so that's cool you are so helpful. I will do exactly as you say. Awesome about your games, what's your favorite game?
Yeah, I paid this one place in Washington to flash it (UExboxMods.com), they are really cool and legit, know friends who have gotten them there, like $50 so can't beat it, lol I am not tech inclined at all. Not sure what they are flashing with.
I'm just glad that there is an easier way to copy your originals than cracking open the case, bc it's a pain in the butt doing that because most drives don't open up well of course.
Wanted a second drive anyway so it's works out well.
Have you heard of any problems with Xbox Creator being incompatible with Vista? lol, knowing my luck, i'll get all this stuff and Vista will cause some errors.

Xbox Backup Creator works with Vista because I use Vista! I have both installed but prefer Schtrom. Most people here seem to prefer the Xbox Backup Creator though but it is just personal choice.
My favorite game at the moment is Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare. In fact I have just completed it but play the PC version on line. I have just burned Assassin's Creed so I am just about to have a go at that. There are so many great games!

That's great man!! Heard Assassins was so cool, was at GameStop the other dayand like there were 10 people ina row bying it. I tried Schtrom with my existing drive yesterday and it said no Xbox 360 drive found, is that because my drive wasn't flashed or something? Glad we got both to choose from. Yeah, so cool on the 360, I just kind awish it was Blu Ray because every electronics techie I talk too say that is going to be the eventual winner, instead of HDDVD. Do you have a modded Xbox? It's cool to with that to burn copies of your original games.

I'm not sure what you mean. Did you try Schtrom to rip an original game that was in your Kreon flashed Samsung? Schtrom finds any drive connected to your computer but will only rip a game using the Kreon flashed drive. So if you have more than one drive installed in your computer, (and most of us have a burner too), you will need to select the Kreon flashed drive before you try to rip the game or it won't work!

Hey, I opened Schtrom with my existing dual burner DVD (not flashed for 360 or nothing) and the program just said could not find Xbox360 drive. I ordered the Samsung off E-bay so hope to get that puppy soon!! Dude, add me to your IMer, vanhalen5150a at yahoo.

Guys, the Kreon Samsung is a DVD Rom not a burner - you use a different drive for that. The Sammy is just for ripping games.
