My first attempt at soldering a modchip in didn't go amazingly well. I ended up burning off some of the cones on the Wii's drive so theres nothing really left to solder to, but my modchip is still in good shape and the drive still plays legit Wii games easily with no problems. So I've been considering selling my used Wii and use the cash to grab a new one (a bit of a loss, but I plan on getting this one professionally modded).

So my question is how much do you think a used Wii would go for? While the system has been opened, it has a few virtual console games (Super Metroid, Kirby's Adventure, ect), and I plan on including a controller, numchuck, and Wii Sports.

i'd say 300 or below.

why don't you just get the system modded by a professional now? just tell the person that you couldn't install the modchip properly.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

will be a shite thing to do tho if the person who buys it is wanting to chip it and cant because of your mistakes

make sure the buyer isnt bigger than you are :P

Just to clear some things up:

I wanted to give it a shot myself before tossing it to a professional. Live and learn, hah.

Also, I plan on selling it to a friend who knows what I did with it. He's been interested in buying a Wii for awhile and has no interest in modding.

well, depending on what chipset you have, you might as well keep it and get it done by a professional. because your modchip would be useless in a new wii, unless your current wii has the d2c chip already.

a used wii in the uk sells for about 50% more than a new one!

You only have to walk into a high street chain and they will give you over £200 for a used one.
