Hi All. I'm thinking of buying a brand new PSP from GAME (in UK). Do I need to avoid a certain firmware? Can I still downgrade/upgrade this to 3.5M33 or 3.71M33?

Avoid the highest firmware number. Try to get the lowest.

Brand new PSP will be quite annoying because it would probably come in 3.71 or 3.72. If you get a firmware higher than 3.50 then I suggest you buy a Pandora's battery( If you're going to get a slim, because it's the same price, then get the Universal Unbricker V3)

Get a 2nd hand PSP from eBay if you want a hacked PSP.
If you get a 1st hand PSP, then we'll guide you through on how to hack your PSP.

Thanks everyone. I think I'll try ebay first. I've had a quick look before and it seems that there are a few sellers that are pretending to be based in UK but are actually importing the PSPs from Japan. Does this make a difference? Should I avoid japanese PSPs and go for a UK PSP?
