I am having a problem burning the game Resident Evil Code Veronica. The game came in MDF/ MDS format and I know that it is an Alcohol 120 % image file. However when trying to burn the MDS file I don't get the options for setting data type to select the PS2 format, but i do get the choice for writing speed 4 X. Also when selecting the MDF file i do get the choice for selecting the data type PS2 but I can't select the right speed for the DVD -R in when choosing to burn the MDF file, and then when trying to burn at the lowest speed given by alcohol 120 % that is 30 X it gives me a message "Please insert a blank disc to the following DVD/CD recorder"
I am using Alcohol 120 % v 1.9.6 build 5429 and TDK type disk with maximum speed of 16X.
Please help, I need to burn the MDF/MDS file with the lowest maximum speed of 4X and selecting the right data type (PS2). I am using swap magic 3.6. I have tried burning th file MDS but that gave me not a valid PS2 format disk, and when tying to burn the MDF file I cant' select the speed and get the message "Please insert a blank disc to the following DVD/CD recorder"

Have you tried burning it like this? That is to say, without setting the data type to ps2? Also, if you're using 16x speed discs it's best to burn them at 8x, usually the rule of thumb is to burn the disc at half it's max speed. And don't forget to use good quality media.
Yes I tried burning the MDs and you are right it does give the option of writing spees but not Data Type, and after burning the image with ALcohol 120% and inserting the dvd-R in PS2 it says invalid disk format. I used swap magic 3.6.
I have even tried converting the image to ISO using magiciso but still gives me wrong format.
