I need something that I can use to split one large VOB file into many smaller ones...I tried using Nerovision but if I try to move around in the video with the little progress bar it unsyncs the video and audio and gets completely messed up...or if I do find a good spot and split it, the split videos are completely different and unusable...help :(

I've used MPEG Streamclip to split VOB files into contiguous sections (later to be joined to match the original file).

Load the VOB,
This assumes that the start of the video is the starting point for the segment you wish to save.

Mark the time-line with the mouse at your chosen split point then press the (Down Arrow) to move the slider to the key frame.

The reason to select key frames with the ↓ is to prevent sync problems if you rejoin the segments.

Click 'File' > 'Save As' and save the segment.

If you wish to save the next contiguous segment, press the "i" key to mark the start (the end point of the first part, becomes the start point of the new part), click the mouse at the new end point, press the , then click "o" to mark the point.

Save this segment.
Repeat as required.

To rejoin the segments to make the original file, select all the files (in alpha order) and 'Save as'.

When saving files give them alphabetical order names. They can be renamed later.
