Hi. My first post here. I wasn't sure as to which chip was in this Wii and so took it apart for a photo for you guys to confirm!

Just need some1 to explain to me how to show the photo in a post. I click add image and it comes up with some HTML code...i think its HTML.

Do i put in the location of the image on my hard drive between the two pieces of code that automatically appear?

Thanks for the help

If this helps - The WiiD has solder points onto a board - where this is directly to a chip.

I have installed two WiiDs and none have looked like this.

Still - dump the WiiD and buy a WiiKey or Cyclowiz

Yeah doesnt look like wiid. My guess is its an older wiinja. Take a look at any numbers or markings on the chip and you should be able to figure out exactly what it is.

All the markins i can see from the hi-res version of the picture is in the middle, the circle bit you can see, it says MALAYSIA and there is a 4 digit number through the middle of the circle which is A383.

I've searched google for this and found nothing.

Also i cant seem to be able to move the chip from where it is sitting. I don't want to pull too hard incase any wires come loose but it won't budge. I'm only saying this as there could be something on the other side

Well, I dont know what version, or whether or not its a clone, but it definitely looks like a wiinja. ( http://www.nextrl.it/newsimg/wii/wiinjainside.JPG )

As far as it being stuck, it is common to hot glue the chips in place. My suggestion if you need to remove it is to gently pry and see what happens. If there is some give then you should be ok to just pull it out. Worst comes to worst those legs are easy to solder to.

Wiinja is programmable, however I dont know of any SMG fix (or if there will be one). I havent worked with these chips before so I dont know what your options are. You can check http://psx-scene.com/forums/wii-modchips/ . Someone there might be able to help you out more than I can. Also, if you need to buy a different chip it cost ~$30 and half the solder job is already done. :)
Good Luck
