Try doing this:

- go to the - c:\windows\inf - directory
- copy "USBSTOR.inf"
- create a folder in - c: for example c:\tmp\ -
- paste the "USBSTOR.inf" in that file
- try to have windows load the drivers from that folder.

make sure you back up the USBSTOR.inf file before doing anything.

I work in IT support, if you have any question feel free to ask.

Have you tried removing the memory stick and directly inserting it into your system?

Try formatting the memory stick if you can do this than format it in the psp after that. Otherwise this is definitely another vista issue.

By any chance do you have a sony VAIO? i know that there has been some compatibility issue with the "SONY" psp and the "SONY" vaio. ironic isn't it.
