No one ever told me but why are we using these ripping softwares?
Can we just Copy and Paste the files onto Hard drive?
Some genious! Give me a clear answer!

Because DVD-Video discs are protected by various copy protection mechanisms, most notably with CSS that make it impossible to copy the files from DVD without cracking the copy protection first, which is exactly what DVD Decrypter and other DVD rippers do.
