Hey guys,

Before you start flaming... I'm just letting you know that I DID use the search engine, but it didn't really answer my questions.

Pretty much, I have an NTSC Wii 3.1U with a Wiikey installed (Currently 1.9g).

I have some backup Gamecube games (Super Mario Sunshine, Zelda Windwaker, and Super Smash) and every time I load them into my Wii, it reads it properly but I just get a black screen.
There's sounds and everything, if I use the GC controller I can still press the buttons because I here confirmation sounds when I press Start or A or whatnot.

Question is, how can I get rid of the black screen because everything else seems to work perfectly.

Thanks in advance.

I left a couple messages here and elsewhere recently because I getting the same thing as you. It would seem with the thousands of people who have installed Wiikeys, someone would have successfully made a GameCube game run on the Wii, but now I'm beginning to wonder.

I was able to back up a GameCube game using the DVD Backup utility on the WiiKey config disk (dvddump I think). It was the exact number of bytes as stated it should be.

I then burned to a DVD-R Verbatim, which I have successfully used to burn WII backups. When I put the GameCube game in, I get the GC logo in the disk channel. I click on it, and the GC logo fills the screen with the music.

However, when I then click the GameCube controller, the drive flashes blue for a half second, and then it seems to stop, and the screen goes black.

It just sits there, hung up I guess. The game doesn't start. Is this what you are experiencing? It sounds like it from your description.

I'm wondering if ANYONE has ever burned a GC game and got it to run on the WiiKey. The Wii will play the original GC disc, but perhaps it won't play a GC backup even though they claimed they would.

Yesterday I emailed WiiKey support to ask them about it. Today, their site is down. I hope this is not a sign of big trouble for them.

If you make ANY progress on this GC backup playing, please post or PM me, as I'm trying to get the same thing to work.

Dude... the games works alright.

But the only problem is the black screen..
There's noise and everything when I press the controller buttons, it all responds properly.

But yeah, I would greatly appreciate ANY updates on this problem.

Thanks again.

Yes, I'd also like to hear more about this problem. From my experience though, it has been bad iso/gcm files. However, even if it does work, I sometimes get really high-pitched noises, like from my Super Smash Bros backup. Is there something more to this to fix those noises?
