PS2 CD-R BACKUPS WON'T WORK WITH RECORDNOW DX

how's it going everyone,
i just got a sony dru-510-A DVD +/-RW/R drive. i tried to make a backup of THE THING (which is a cd-based game for ps2) using RECORDNOW DX on a maxxel CD-R, but it didn't work and the red "insert ps2 format disc" screen came up.
i tried another maxxel cd-r; that didn't work either. both the times i used the WIZARD to make an exact copy of the disc.
FYI, i dont know which MOD chip i Have but it boots directly all the other back-ups i have.
please help me here and also, given the drive and software i have, which media should i use to back-up my DVD and CD based games on DVD-R and CD-R respectively.

record now isnt the best program to copy ps2 cd based games as a lot of them have copy protection try clone cd or Alcohol 120 for ps2 cd games

Just goes to show ya - I can ONLY get RecordNow DX to work with my PS2 backups (DVD). I've got a v4 PS2 (GTurismo Edition Red) ...new Alcohol 120% demo sucks, coastered new Sony DVD+Rs... I'd try Nero, DVD Decrypter for DVDs

Use DVD Decrypter and just check your DVD burner's enable cd burn function.

Iso-read-iso write - done
