So news is the PS3 version of Valves Orange Box is pretty s***** Its even been deemed as unplayable and its looks like a slide show. I'm personally getting sick of getting a ****** version of a multi platform game. Infinity Ward has proven that you can make a good if not a better PS3 version of a game. So why does it seem like some developers and publishers are half a***** PS3 games on purpose. It's like we as PS3 owners are being given the short end of the stick because we chose to buy a PS3. Well I say a big "**** YOU Valve!!" Infiniy Ward and Naughty Dogg has set the bar for other third party developers. Let's see if other will follow.

EA can make good games- just not for the PS3. They always make crappy ports- they should seriously learn from infinity ward (who used a better development team for the PS3 version of CoD4 :D)

Did you ever think for a moment that Bill might be sliding a few extra dollars to developers so that they make crappy ports to boost Xbox sales. If you look at sales figures for Xbox, Microsoft has yet to make a profit off of the 360. You can choose to believe me or not, but if you don't then look it up.

It has yet to make a profit... But think it like this: year 2000, MS has 0% market share in console gaming industry. Year is 2007, MS has aprox 40% market share in console industry. Thats a big boost.
Thats not profit, thats successful buissness. Maybe the 360 wont make any profit, but sometimes when you break into an unknown market it can be longterm investments before you get anything back. But as things stand today I think MS in very satisfied with project xbox.
And MS really wont lose if they make a billion loss on xbox, they plan to get it back in all the future generations by having the market share.

This don't surprise me with the comments that Valve made about the PS3 about a month ago.More like excuses if you ask me.
Valve co-founder: PS3 'a waste of everybody's time'
http://www.gamepro.com/news.cfm?article_id=140148
With games like COD4,R&C,AC,& Uncharted we know this is excuses he was making.I don't support studios like this & No PS3 owner should either.

Your figures are wrong. They might have a 40% with the 360 in comparison to something else (1 console say) but in the grand scheme of things with the PS3, PS2 (still selling great) & PSP (being considered a console), Wii and DS lines, there is absolutely no way MS has 40% in total respectively. No way. Your "numbers" are totally incorrect.

You are wrong as well oner. The guy said that the 360 has 40% of the CONSOLE industry. That does NOT include Psp or DS. In addition the PS3 only recently started getting good sales and with the 360's yearlong head start 40% might be correct. Before I get called a 360 fanboy, I would like to let you know I love my PS2 and still play it alot, dont own a 360 or wii and am getting a PS3 for Christmas

A DS and PSP are considered handheld consoles and is included in many figures for sales (and justifiably so) as it does play games as the others do to. So to not include these figures is out right "fudging" the numbers to suit a specific need/point which just doesn't hold water as it is a biased percentage/figure. That is my point.

How can Microsoft have 40% of the console industry when they can't give away a 360 in Japan.Handhelds are counted as consoles. If not then what are they counted as? His numbers are wrong & so are you. When PS2 was killing everyone they only had like 65% of the market so how can 360 have that when they don't even have a Handheld.Nintendo have Wii & DS which are both out selling anything Microsoft has Plus Sony Has PS3,PS2& PSP.PSP & PS2 are out selling 360 & XBOX put together.

Previews: Half-Life 2: OB
This version of The Box has issues. (Mini-preview)
By David Ellis 11/21/2007
In an interview earlier this year, Valve Software founder Gabe Newell referred to PlayStation 3 as "a waste of everybody's time." This attitude shows in the development structure of The Orange Box. While the PC and Xbox 360 versions were handled by Valve, the PS3 port was handed off to an internal team at EA. Originally scheduled to be released day and date with the PC and 360 versions, the PS3 Orange Box has been delayed until December. PS3 owners, forced to watch from the sidelines as their gaming kindred inundates them with tales of Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2 and Portal, continue to wait patiently for their chance to take a stroll through Valve's universe.
After spending a significant amount of time with a near final version of the PS3 game, it's apparent that this version suffers from a number of technical flaws, which at best merely hinder game play and at worst make the experience downright unplayable. Framerate is a consistent issue throughout the Half-Life series of games included in The Orange Box. One moment you'll be cruising through the game at 30 frames per second and the next you'll be enjoying a slideshow of series protagonist Gordon Freeman cruising down the river. However, Portal suffers from no such technical hiccups and is on its way to being a pitch-perfect port of the spatial reasoning exercise. Due to a server connection issue, we were unable to get any time with Team Fortress 2.
With the clock ticking, EA has a limited amount of time to fix the glaring issues which plague this port of The Orange Box. Unfortunately, it seems that, once again, PlayStation 3 owners are doomed to suffer through another substandard version of a multiplatform game.

A handheld is not counted as a console! Gameboys and GBA were never counted when ps2 was selling like crazy. Its was always counted as ps2 vs xbox vs GC. GC didnt sell very well and so Nintendo has the lowest share of the console market last gen even though they sold many GBA's.

http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/05/26/news_6099369.html

Just because YOU think it is not a console does not make it so. The REAL fact is (which is pretty simple to me), it is handheld CONSOLE that plays games. Just as the others do and to NOT include their numbers means you are biased and are trying to work the numbers to YOUR point of view. It doesn't work that way plain and simple. If you cannot understand that if you are going to trow out "numbers/percentages" you have to include EVERYTHING to be fair and impartial, if you cannot then there is absolutely no point in furthering this discussion as you just don't get it.

Hey. I believe the article was on 1up.com as 1up got some face time with the game. Just google Orange Box on the PS3 and you'll find it.

It's not a console and as the link shows I'm not alone. IGN and Gamespot share my view and I think their view has a little more weight than yours. Hurts not to be right doesnt it.

Lets say for a minute that Oner is wrong so take the the handhelds out of the equation. Wii has sold more units than Xbox and you still have ps2 and ps3. Now with the numbers that the wii have and the ps2 have you expect me to believe tha microsoft has almost half the market. Like Oner said your figures(or whoever you got them from) are wrong.

And that is why your "logic" is flawed because of your ignorance. I could care less for what some OLD link that you posted as it is obviously biased. There is no point in furthering this conversation as you just don't get it.

I really hope they dont screw up this game as I have been really looking forward to it. I wouldnt read to much into anything that 1up has to say. Every single review Ive read from them concerning a ps3 game is total crap and biased. Think they get alot of their sponsering from Microsoft or something.

History is old but still not forgotten. I guess you feel you always got it?! Lets agree to disagree.
