With alcohol you just choose IMAGE BURNING WIZARD
then you you point to the place where the image is
of the game. Its usually on your hard disk where you downloaded it.
Then you just burn it.

You can NERO to do the same thing.

Obviously after burning you need swap magic or some alternative option like a chip to use the backed up game.

Nope. The ISO is like a one file snapshot of the structure of the original disk. It needs something to use the blob, the one ISO data file to recreate all the subdirectories, data layout of the original disk.

Find out what kind of burner you have and google it to see if there is updated firmware for it. The site you get the firmware from should have directions on how to update your firmware.

Also what brand of DVDs are you using? RW or recordable?

Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager, then click the + sign next to to the dvd drive.

Don't use TDKs, they're utter crap. Only use high quality discs like Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, Sony and Maxell.

DVD-R for fat PS2s and DVD+R for slims.

And no, you can't just copy and paste, you need to burn the iso as an image with dvd decrypter, alcohol or nero.
