CAn someone please help me with this. For the last two weeks I have not been able to play any files on the Windows Media player (I have version 10). WHne I try to play it says Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file
COuld it be that someone tampered with the media player since several people access my computer?

It's often that windows media player can't play some files.
I recommend you use VLC Media Player.Its ten times better and can playback a lot of file formats including .wmv
