When I say cheap, im referring to the cables that are under 20 bucks...

Looking at getting a small lcd tv, under 19", and hooking it up via hdmi to my 360.. I understand you can go with 480 res. or 1080 res screens.. . Does it matter what type of cable i get for either of these resolutions and if so, are our 360's even capable of taking advantage of the higher of the two resolutions or is this a moot point/waste of money to purchase the more expensive television?

You'ld be wasting money by purchasing an HDMI cable to use on a small tv like that. When you benefit from a higher resolution is when you're using a large tv.

I would agree, with a 19" TV just use the stock component cables. You really can not really get the benefits of higher picture quality on a set that small.
Plus when your buying high end cables like component or HDMI going with the cheapest set you find is usually not a real good idea. Lower quality cables will give you a lower quality picture.

Your best bet is monoprice.com. With digital cables, such as hdmi or dvi-d, you either get a signal or not, therefore, there is no such thing as better cables. This is not true for analog cables(such as VGA)however, where quality counts.

Vergil is right.. HDMI is digital, which means either signal or no... Component, composite, svideo and VGA are all analog.. but DVI and HDMI are digital, which means 3$ cables = 300$ cables basically...

Yep. The cheap hdmi cables are the way to go. The only reason you should buy a more expensive hdmi is when you console is like 50ft from the tv, and really, why would you have your console this far from the screen.

Thanks for the link, it was a good read. I was looking at HDMI cables recently since I just got a new 32" lcd during black friday and some HDMI cables are way up there in price.
