Is it safe update from a game?

I have wiikey and a wii that 2.2U now I got a backup metroid prime 3 and it is asking for an update. If the game in usa will I be safe from being bricked?

how come you didnt research your answer first? There must be 100 posts on updating from a game, mods should just put a big sign that says its safe right on the console menu.

I get sick of seeing threads like this. Use your brain people. If you have a USA Wii and a USA Game of course its ok to update via game disc. Do you think Nintendo would put them on the disc to screw your system up?

If they are imported games PAL/NTSC(J) and you have a USA Wii then you need to be cautious updating with the game disc.
