My psp recovery menu wont work

I have a psp with custom firmware 3.71-m33 and I downloaded cheat device for my psp and i put it in the seplugins folder. now when i start up my psp and hold R, all it shows is a black screen, then it shuts off after about 10 seconds. What do i do? Should i reinstall my firmware? Is it possible to reinstall firmwares?

can you boot up your psp normally to the xmb? If so, boot it up, go to usb and delete the plugins from the seplugins folder. see if that fixes recovery mode. if it does then u can reinstall firmware from there
