Do I need connectivity kit to flash my drive?

I am ready to flash my drive. What hardware do I need. I read several posts and it seems that all I need is a PCI SATA card, cables, softwares and I can flash the drive.
So, I do not need to buy the X360 USB, the 360 connectivity kit, or the blaster?
If I wont be making any backup or transfering files, and use my 360 just to play backup, do I still need to purchase the hardwares mentioned?

nope, you don't need the connectivity kit. i flashed my hitachi 78 with a sata cable connected to my motherboard (i guess i lucked out re: the chipset on my internal sata) and the software tools
