I have been backing up my dvds fine Until I the other day I came across a dual layered disc and I'm stuck. Do I need to invest in a new DVD rom drive and burner? I have been using DVD Fab Platinum and not having any problems until now. I keep getting freeze ups in the copy process. Can anyone help?

how old is ur bruner
is it dual layer burner
evnthough don't worry
think about how long u will be using duallayer
(imean u want to go hd stuff)then itsn ot worth
let say if u have year to two
i would go for dual layer
now a daysits cheap($50-$70)

theres another option
if urs is single buner
put the movie on to two discs with out compression
ultimately u have to decide

DVD rom is about 2yrs old. Like I said it hasn't given me problems except with two of the last movies I have tried to burn. How do you split movies up?

moved to correct forum

@Jburner - most original dvds are dual layer. DVDFab compresses them to fit on a single layer disc.
Which 2 movies are giving you a problem?
DVDFab up to date - the latest is 4.0.1.2.

I pulled out an old program Rip It 4 Me and baby sat it as it ran telling it to ignore some of the problem vts references and got through them. Used fix vts to align the order and dvd shrink to burn the files. All appears to be well again. Aside from the baby sitting.
