Hi i've been having a problem keeping the 19:9 wide screen ratio when encoding with VSOConvertXtoDVD new version 2.2.3.258h.

I've tried all the settings, ticking the keep aspect ratio, not ticking, automatic but all of my wide screen dvd's get sqeezed down to a ratio more like 4:3.
The VOB files in the working folder play in full wide screen, its just from there to the actual burned dvd that i lose the wide screen aspect ratio. This bug has been discussed before with some earlier versions, see link below.

hmmm, very interesting, im not to sure on this? but will stay tuned to this thread and have a think/look about...

i think its the ifo file that directs/instructs dvd players

dont suppose it could be the file?, have you tried an older one to see? could always make an iso then load to a virtual drive for testing (no burning/wasting a dvdr)

Nothing here to see, move along folks.

I burned the same file with WinDVD Creator and it kept its full wide screen ratio but WinDVD makes the stutter due to converting from NTSC TO PAL quite bad, with ConvertXtoDVD you can hardly notice it, not to mention the speed and quality. I don't know anything about creating a vitual drive to test it but if it is the IFO file is there anything i can do, thanx

hi

are you converting ntsc dvds to pal dvds?

or some other file like avi to dvd?

while waiting to know the above look below
--------------------------------

may have a work around if vobs are good! ok get "IFOEDIT v0.96 a frre app" then from the WORKING folder remove the bup/ifo files leaving only vobs.

then open ifoedit look to the bottom and you see a button create ifo's, press and {{keep same folder as vobs}} for destination.

it should make ifo/bup what go with your widescreen vobs (as before dvd files) ready for burning

Nothing here to see, move along folks.

Yes I think there ripped from DVD'S, there NTSC avi files converted into PAL, but i've converted the same file with out aspect ratio loss with WinDVD but it makes the stutter effect far worse and four times as long to encode for the same quality.

ifoedit is for main movie only! no extras no menus !!!

deinterlacing may correct picture stutter aslong as it is the video stuttering not a bad dvdr media being jumpy

It's got some settings at the start of ifoedit that i don't know how to set thou:

Create 1 PGC only or Create a PGC for each new VobID
and
Create Chapter for each Cell or Create Chapter for 1st Cell only of each PGC

But that's another thread i'll try in the future, thanx.

Thanx for the link QuickDraw, great help.
It all went as the guide showed but it goes wrong when i reach the get VTS sectors, to much to write about here, but the result would be a dvd that wouldn't burn or play properly, so will have to look for another fix, thanx anyway.

Sorry to hear that. There are many IFOEDIT tutorials on the Internet. Just Google it. Pick the one that best fits your needs.

It's ok, the warning i got from ifoedit wasn't to clear on what i should do to correct the problem, or i just didn't read it properly. I had to delete the title VOB file for it to work, it's working ok now.
It seems like a good program so will be reading up on it, thanx once again for your help.

ifoedit is bugged, v0.96 is the most stable, so treat it as is
