I have a wiikey in my wii. I was playing earlier today and it all was fine. i tried a new game and it gave me an unable to read disk error. Now no backed up games work. The origanals work though. Any thoughts.

Im having the same problem useing wiikey
ver 1.9g
wii ver 3.1e
all my backups are pal and all worked fine 2 days ago

it is ntsc. all the games are ntsc. i don't think it is bricked because it still works. it just won't read backups. i am going to try the recovery disk if it will read it.

have you played smg
i think smg is a ticking time bomb for the wiikey

i have but that was a couple of weeks ago when i beat it. Goint to try the first update before the smg update and if that dosn't work going to try teh recovery. hopefully i don't have to get a new chip

GREAT NEWS: The recovery disk for update 1.9b worked you can get it a wiikey website. reset the console, put the disk in and leave it alone for about 5 minutes. I waited 10 just to make sure and it worked. And it did!!!!!!!!!!!

did you have to use fixsize on the recovery disk file.
and what did you use to burn it with

i did not have to use filechop, just have to burn it. I used alcohol 120%, you can get a trial version at downloads.com it takes a bit to put it in but it is a great program it imulates virtual drives and it does the proper burn for the updates for the wiikey
