Hi,
I have a Wii PAL D2C chipped console, my problem is I am able to play PAL backups on my pal Wii but I am not able to play NTSC backups for both Wii and GameCube backups.
The game loads up on the disc menu but every time I click on the start button, the screen turns black and freezes. So I have to turn off the console.
i have tried different media types as pal backup works on them
Can someone tell me what is wrong?

sorri,
i have a pal version of Wii and i want to play ntsc backups as i there is no pal version of the game.

all that happens is that the game is detected but when i click start, a black screen just appears.

oops, i realized what i said when you replied, i meant stick with pal games, and if there is no pal version of the game just wait there usually is. Or you can just back them up like you suppose too

well, i really wanted to play naruto and one piece games on wii or GC and i think its very unlikely they will be release in the uk or euro zone.
