I own a PSP Slim that is on 3.72. I made the magic memory stick using the Total Newbi Installer with #4 on the command prompt, and I made the Pandora battery by taking it apart and desoldering the right thing. Am I ready to downgrade, because I am afraid of 2 things happening. 1 is the battery frying, and 2 is bricking. I just need someone to comfirm if I am ready.

In thsi part fo the guide:
Originally posted by kikzm33z: Now, install the TotalNewbi Easy Installer into your PC. Create either the Despertar del Cementero 3(Universal Unbricker V3) or the JigKick(Pandora's Battery) onto your memory stick.
So choose Despertar del Cementero 3 aka Universal Unbricker V3.

@BTFan
I edited your post - what you had in parenthesis was totally out of line. Let it go.
Hopefully I'll see no more of this after the time of my last warning.

What the heck!? I put in the magic memory stick and the battery, and my psp came up normally (without black screen, but with normal start up) I think because when I desoldered the little piece that makes it go into service mode, melted onto the green board. How do I make it so that it goes into service mode?

Use this method to turn on your PSP to service mode, depending on if you have a FAT or SLIM PSP:
Originally posted by dEEZ_nUtz: FAT PSP:
->Insert the UPMS memory stick
->Hold down the L trigger button
->Insert Pandora battery
->Release L trigger button when the Ultimate Loader menu appears
(If your psp boots to the XMB, it means you didn?t hold the L trigger button down)
SLIM PSP:
->Power off and remove your slim battery.
->Insert the UPMS memory stick
->Now hold L and insert your Pandora Battery.
->Release L when the MS light or screen flashes.
->UL will automatically assign the 3.71 folders and launch DCv3
