Hey all. I'm a noobie here as this is my first post. I've had XBMC for over a year now and have been using a wireless connection. I have a dlink dir-625 router, a dlink wireless repeater and the dlink xbox wireless adapter. It's been working great for about a year now. But out of nowhere I have all of a sudden been unable to access my SMB shares on my xbox. It's completely frustrating because I didn't do a thing to the PC or the xbox. It just happened.
I though it may have been a wireless issue because the problem occurred just a couple days after I installed the wireless repeater. But that didn't make any sense because I was still getting a weak signal without the repeater, and it was working flawlessly with the repeater for a couple days. But just to make sure I reset the router and repeater to see if that was the problem. Nope. But I still wasn't satisfied so I brought the xbox upstairs to my computer and set it up through a hard wire. I still get the "Workgroup Not Found" window when I select SMB network shares.
I've been trying to get help on the XBMC forums, and everyone there is great and really responsive, but I either don't understand what they're talking about or they are telling me to set up network pings and whatnot. I don't use XBMC for the internet, though I will get into that at some point. I use the XBMC for strictly file sharing and it's a fantastic software mod. : ) I just want to get my SMB network back up and running, but it's difficult to know what went wrong when I didn't do anything to either the settings on the XBOX or my PC.
I'm just wondering if anyone here knows about this problem and has a solution for that specific problem. : )
Thanks.
