i have a 360, and i want to add a Hard-drive to play old xbox games and have more space without buying umpteen-million memory cards. Because the standard drives are small and overpriced, i want to get a cheeper 500GB USB 2.0 dirve and use that. however, word on the street is that you cant use such a drive for xbox live content. Is there any way to mod/hack/blackmail it into working?

also, hello.

you are now breathing manually.

You mean the buying and downloading them from LIVE? You can't do it with any usb drive. It has to be an official MS drive.

Thespecialist released a process to make your own 20 or 120 gig hdd, but it is quite technically involved for most to accomplish. And when the first round LIVE bannings happened this past Spring, one of the possible reasons for some being banned was using a hacked hard drive. This is because the hacked drive needs a key from a legit drive. Now... I haven't read anywhere of that being confirmed or dismissed, but it's something to keep in mind.

unless you plan on buying a lot of things on the Marketplace, then the 120GB drive would be plenty. I only have the 20GB and still have most of it free. But i do not do movies, games, or much in the way of the arcade stuff.
