Hey,
This isn't just a question post askin, "Will i get banned" If youv'e come here to find that the quick answer is:
ATM IF YOU DOWNLOAD GAMES OFF THE WEB ITS POSSIBLE / LIKELY MS IS MONITORING YOU.
Anyway, back to my thread.
So lets say, Youve got a samsung kreon encrypted drive. You ripping an original you legally bought of course. Using Ixtreme on your drive at the moment as long as nothing goes wrong its thought that MS cannot tell. Correct?
Assuming this how / when do you think MS will be detect Ixtreme. I know no body knows for certain but i was just wondering what some of you guys thought.
Thanks a lot
Lecsiy

everything is theory. Backing up originals yourself is of course your safest way of doing it. As far as when MS will detect firmware, well as you said. No one knows. But the day will surely come as everyone saw with the original Xbox and all the things that they could detect on that one.

I'd have to lean towards "correct". If it were not then everyone using backups on LIVE would have been banned.
Of course, that day may still be around the corner...

Ya, only MS knows the answer to that. But if you look at it from a business point of view, financially it makes no sence at all to hold off banning people. They have more to gain by banning someone right away. They're going to sell more consoles and games.
Plus, I'm sure the game developers would really frown on MS allowing more and more people to keep pirating their games. The quicker they ban, the less games are downloaded. This latest flood of scene releases are a prime example. Obviously there's a bad release or two. So now a lot of dl'ers are are very weary of grabbing more games.
Of course, this is just the way I look at the situation.
