Sup everybody. Ok here's the deal. About a month ago i flashed my ms25 with ixtreme1.2revC firmware with my dell dimension 4600's onboard sata (which i believe is called ICH5 or something like that). So everything was dandy, then I discovered xtrm0800 which could help me make my own backups so here's where i started having loads of problems.
I did the whole mtkflash thing and when id select the drive recognized by my sata it would just hang there with some message like 00 slave/master a0. So then after trying many things including the 10 second thing, i decided to buy a via vt6421a card from new egg. Here's the card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...pk=via%2bvt6421
Ok, so i got it in the mail, hooked it up to the pci slot, installed the driver and connected my sammy ms25 to it, powered the xbox on, and powered the pc on. Once I got past the bios, but then the card would try to scan it. It would say "scan devices, please wait..." and just hang there for a while, or an error would come up saying something like check the driver press <g>, i'm sure u know of what im talking about. I can't find any solutions in forums, so i resorted to this. Someone please help me.

When you turn on the PC and 360 make sure that the SATA cable is only plugged into the Card at the moment! When it boots into DOS, then you plug the SATA Cable into the 360! Then try going on from there!!!

You don't need to hexedit anything!

alright i have some good news and some bad

I got my drive detected in mtk flash with the via vt6421a card after hexediting the mtkflash and doing what davgerm said

The bad news is that i still get the same error that i would with onboard sata that i thought wasnt compatible (the 00 slave/master a0 and it hangs one)

So here are the specs

My 360 drive is a samsung ms25 currently flashed with ixtreme 1.2revC firmware
My sata card is the rosewill via vt6421a card
