I just started to convert a DVD and the progress bar started out blue and after 1% it turned black for a while maybe to 3% then turned back blue again. would anyone know why this is or why did it turn black?
Thanks,

You have to give us the "meat and potatoes" here. As previously stated, we need to know what application(s) you used to do the conversion. What exactly are you trying to do?
EDIT: Ok. I take it as you're converting an AVI file to DVD. If this is so, try the freeware DVD Flick and see if that helps. Personally, I've never used WINAVI.

I was using WinAVI to convert with and was converting AVI to DVD.
Any way I may have the answer. When it got done converting I had a nice picture BUT no sound. I am converting the file again with WinAVI to see what happens. I have not been able to get sound on some convertions tho with WinAVI. I don't know what could have happened as the program use to work without any problems and was fast by far any others I have tried. I used ConvertXtoDVD and it worked great but slower.

Yes, CX2DVD works great. You can tweak the settings to your liking if you want. It's recommended, however, to leave the encoding quality under High quality/slow encoding to produce a better quality.
