told I had to have separate driver for Wii game back-Ups. I will be using it with my Sony VGN-FE550g laptop so, obviously it has to be
EXTERNAL.
i HAVE LOOKED ALL OVER THE PLACE FOR THE PAST 3 WEEKS (AND STILL NO DRIVERS. DO EXTERNAL MODELS EVEN EXIST??? IF SO,
WHERE CAN I FIND ONE!!!!!!!!!!!
MOD CHIP ALSO!
If your looking for a drive to read the disks your backing up then you'll need one of these LG-8164b, LG-8163b, LG-8162b or LG-8161b, and a drive enclosure, a guide for this is on the forum, check the link below.
If your looking for something to wright the disks any good quality external DVD±R drive will do it, something like this "LG GSA-E40L External USB2.0 18xDVD±RW/RAM DL LightScribe" you can get for £35, I have used and it does the job, just don't push the speed up to high, and it loves the verbatim DVD-R x16, but what drive doesn't.
The modchip depends on what version your Wii drive is, check by your serial at the link below,
I am using a Wiikey and have found it very good, but it doesn't work on the D2C bord. So if your Wii has a D2C then its a D2CKey for you at the moment.
