I'm a bit confused about the Wii networking options.

Right out of the box it has wireless and will connect to my wireless network. Sounds great but I've seen people complaining about the range. Is it bad?

Second, the USB adapter. I though it plugged into the Wii and allowed you to use a wire but it actually plugs into the pc and then allows you to use the Wii wirelessly. Is that correct? And if so how is the range/quality?

And last, is there any other option?

I don't know about wireless routers but if you set it up right then it should be OK.

I personally use the Nintendo USB WiFi Adapter and it works great. My computer where the adapter is can be about ~20-30 feet away and it can still pick up a good signal. But be sure that there is no interference in the path. Works great with the DS also.

You can buy a LAN adapter which plugs in the USB on the Wii and then to your modem/router.
