if you have 1.50 firmware you need to install a custom firmware to play isos from the memory stick ,forget device hook you dont need it

install first firmware 3.52m33 then install update 4 then you will have 3.52m33-4, only then you can install 3.71m33

its partially working, I got it to 3.52m33 now, but there I get stuck, I dont quite understand the guide from there... it says put the update file in GAME150 (this is the update 4 part) there is only a EBOOT file to begin with, and also there is no GAME150 folder.

I tried to put the EBOOT file in the folder but that did not work, is it the wrong link on the post? thanks for the help so far, hope you can help me more

First off format your Memory Stick so the new folder directories can be created on the PSP Memory Stick (Make sure you backup any Game Saves or other stuff you want to keep). You will then see GAME150 folder inside the PSP folder.

Now go HERE and download the M33-4 update. Extract it and drag the M33-4 folder to the /PSP/GAME150 folder.

Now go to Game Menu memory Stick and run the update.

If you want the latest 3.71 M33-3 firmware then go HERE and follow this guide to install 3.71 M33-2.

After you update to 3.71 M33-2 go HERE and download the 3.71 M33-3 update. Extract it and drag the UPDATE folder to the /PSP/GAME folder and run it under Game Menu Memory Stick.

After you have finished updating to 3.71 M33-3 format your memory Stick so newer folder directories can be created.

You don't need to update to 3.71 M33. You can stay at 3.52 M33-4 which is stable and can currently play all PSP games. So after you finishing going to 3.52 M33-4 or update to 3.71 M33-3 go HERE and follow the steps to get your ISO/CSO working properly off the Memory Stick.

I have a PSP 3.71 m33-2 and i have a UMD Dump tool. When I rip the ISO, I put it into my ISO folder. The game shows up but when I try to play it, it says the game cannot be played.

Can anyone help me?

Ghopper08, start your own thread on your problem as hijacking another member's thread is a forum rule no no. you'll get better results that way too.
