xbox 360 trade for ps3/ps3 questions

Hey i dont want any fanboyism but do you think its smart to trade a xbox 360 for a ps3 60gig? I mean i love the ps3's games and i am very bored with xbox. Whats the ps3 online experince like? Do ppl have microphones and do they use them? When can i watch xvid/divx on my ps3? If i have a 1080i tv will i see a defernce between normal and blu-ray dvd's?

you do w/e you want with your system but if your unhappy with one and feel you'd get more out of the other, then go for it. yes people use mics,i have both COD4 and Warhawk and people are constantly chatting away (some more than others). as much as people want to criticize ps3's online structure, i happen to find nothing wrong with it.
COD4 however is not the best setup. if your in a gamelobby and the leader of that lobby exits the game, the lobby is closed. there is no way to transfer leadership (atleast none that i know of). also when you go to find a certain lobby (say headquarters for example) you don't get the breakdown of individual servers as you do in warhawk to pick from. basically they find the server for you and you jump in. does take some time though as it is impossible to see what servers are open and how many people are in a given server.
warhawk on the other hand breaksdown servers into categories. CTF,DEATHMATCH and so on, from there you can sort all sony servers for a particular game, determine the number of people in a server, and join a game that has available space. pretty nice setup actually and fairly straight forward for finding the game you want so long as they are not all full. the only downside to me for warhawk is the limited amount of maps you can play. i think an expansion pack or something is in the works and should be due out pretty soon.
i rarely ever experience any problems associated with playing online other than the occasional lag woes that any system and almost all online games suffer from.
oh the online is free, which is great IMO.

Ill answer that and i have both systems so no fanboyism to me the ps3 is just more better. What the 360 has so those the ps3, shooters are mainly what 360 people are still use there system but ps3 is all around and will only get better.
Example
Lets say i want to play online shooters i got
Warkhawk(This game pretty much give you a free bluetooth headseat for free. $59.99 for the bundle game and headseat or $39.99 for just the game.)
Resistance
Call of duty 4
Unreal Tornament 3 (coming soon)
Raimbow Six Las Vegas
Gosht Recon 2
Those are just examples of online and all of them run prety good so ur really not going to miss the 360 much.
And besides you get all those benefits that the 360 will never have like
free online,
blue ray player(and with your hd tv its worth it) killzone2,ff13,metal gear solid 4
and the most important of them all an xbox360 that is harware reliable
wich do you prefer a system failure of %33 percent over %o.o2 percent
But these are the benefits of an xbox360 that ps3 people will never have
halo3
a system that will crash on you just for fun
pay for online
a system that will scratch ur games for fun

im still using my 360 as my main console n my ps3 collecting dust, mainly bc they were slow for games, but this year looks like its gunna have an amazing line up , and like he said^ online play is free wich is a bonus along with a few other things that xbox wont touch and alot of the games that will come out like "little big planet" is a lazy mans programmer , wich allows users to develop and add to the game as they see fit and there will be other games like this coming wich is really gunna be a hole new turn for games and there capabilities, as where xbox stated they would never allow this on any of there games there loss, but the ps3 should really be turning it self around this coming year only better things to come now from it. lucky i hav both systems so i can jump back an forth lol.

this is not really one.....its just trying to see which one is best for me. Well i traded and i can say that ps3 is awsome!!!! I love it! mostley because of the multimedia capabilites but the games are good to.
RFOM is like crack!

im glad you are enjoying it.. .i know there's many that would argue the ps3 is no where near as good as the 360.. me on the other hand bought a ps3 and never owned a 360 but have played it multiple times because of friends who all own one... i really want to believe i picked the better choice with going with the ps3 but sometimes i have doubts.. these are my impressions
- many argue although the ps3 online is free.. its a lot crappier than the 360 live and that the live is worth the money
- ps3 downloads are super slow in america compared to the 360 live
- ps3 has blu ray.. 360 you gotta pay 200 extra for the hd dvd
- ps3 games are generally remakes of xbox 360 games (as in most of the games were meant for 360.. they just reencoded it for the ps3)---> someone please add something about this... this is just what i've been told
- more selection on the 360
- GT5 exclusive for the ps3
- better multimedia features on the ps3
- premium 360 includes hd cables.. ps3 doesnt
- ps3 is more expensive
- i like the wireless ps3 controller over the xbox's
- ps3 is more reliable
- big debate between the media war of blu ray and hddvd
im trying not to be a ps3 fanboy or w.e... these are just my impressions. i still would not trade my ps3 for an xbox 360 but thats also because i have not played/owned the 360 long enough to have a better knowledge to compare.. i just hopes the ps3 wins in the end..
i personally think you will still see a difference between blu ray and dvds with just a 1080i tv...but at the same time.. the ps3's upconverting dvd feature is just amazing..it really does make a difference and like i said before.. i really like the ps3 for its media functions

what can we say the ps3 is that ausome just buy the 40gb if money is an issue. The only bad this is you cannot play ps2 games on it.
Or get the 80gb for 500 either way its totally worth it.

Hi, I sold my 360 (Core) on ebay 1 month ago (October), and I got £260 for it (plus £35 for postage). It was an 'extreme' version, and went with 23 games.
Bit of a bargain for the lad in Ireland who bought it, but better for me.I've got a PS3 60GB with Resisatance Game for £295 off ebay.
I'm happier with the PS3.
The 360 was good, but peed off about the Live costs. Hooky games compensated for the costs, but online is where it is at.
I'd go for PS3 anyday. Blu-Ray is worth it alone.

I find there is no point of a Xbox 360 to me its like a PC.
But I find the Ps3 and Wii do actually do something different then a PC like both of them have something unique PS3 has its own tittles which no other thing will get like Gran Turismo And it has graphics above anything else and good Multimedia.
Wii Has got mario which there is no doubt is the best Platformer/Action/Adventure games you can get and Now Super Mario Galaxy which after playing it belive it is the best adventure game, the controler is great its not a gimmick it really does something new and graphics are great there is nothing wrong with them its something people use as a comeback but I belive having graphics 3x the quality of a Ps2 is Great and just imagine Gran Turismo 4 with 3x the Visuals :D thats what a Wii can do.
But 360 is just in the middle nothing very special.
I think you should do what you think is the best no one can tell you which is the best its just a personal preference.
But getting a PS3 because of a Game Like COD:4 which is on 360 and plays the same are you sure thats the best thing?
The only reason Id see someone change is because They want the First Party Tittles like Gran Turismo and Final Fantasy etc or wanting to use Blu Ray or the Sixaxis but I have to admitt sony has lost some of its First Party Tittles which have or now becomming multi platform but its what you think someone else can't tell you which is better its a personal prefernce not what numbers or features are on the spec list.
But Im waiting for My Ps3 for Xmas Already got a Wii

Dazilla after i completed Smg i sold my wii for 350 and that paid for my xbox 360 and i have enough left to buy a wii! its a good console, but im sure ill get the wii again some time

sony didn't loose its first party titles it lost its 3rd party titles to multiplatform systems like the 360 and wii.
Like resistance,ratchet and clank, heavenly sword, warhawk (i think) god of war 3(never) just to give you some examples will never see multiplatform even if they make little sales it belongs to sony. That and i believe sony has the most 1st party developers than microsoft and nintendo and most of those games are always good.

sony has more internal studio support than microsoft and nintendo, COMBINED. the increase in production costs is the primary reason for one time 3rd party exclussives becoming multiplatform. need not worry about first party exclusives on the sony side.
not to mention first party support or even lets just say exclusives are fairly diverse for the ps3. i dont think the same can be said for the 360. masseffect,halo,gears,lostplanet,bioschock all carry a similar tune, not that that takes anything anyway from the games but there isn't too much of a variety IMO.
