Is chipping the WII worth it?

There someone in my area that's installing mod chips for the WII and I'm thinking about doing it but haven't done too much research on it.

Before I get flamed for not doing research I just want to say that I might get ir done this weekend and and don't have any time to check up on it since I'm working.

He's charging $150 for the D2CKey chip and install. Is that a fair price? I don't know the guy but he's been posting his services on craigslist for a while and seems to know what he's doing. Will it be a hassle updating the chip and will I encounter any problems in the future with this chip as far as not being able to play any more games becausse of the updates? Should I wait?

Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

Eh... $150 seems a little bit too steep. But it depends on what chipset your Wii has. Currently the D2C chipsets are more difficult to install, so they're more expensive to get to install I guess. But it probably shouldn't cost more than $50 to get someone to install.

i think 150 is quite good. the chip itself is around 50. The guy that did my first gen system charged me 60 but i had a botched install. and he charged 215 for D2C. which is quite expensive. but he has life time warranty and gives 5 free games of your choice. but yea. i think 150 is good if hes legit.
