hi all, i have a jap wii with wiikey installed. i have installed the latest wii firmware as well as 1.9b for the wiikey. i have wiikey set to have region override on with dvdr speed set at 6X.

now my question is that whenever i try to look cooking mama (this is a real game, not a backup, i believe this is NTSC), it freezes right after it begins to load. Also when i try to load zelda: twilight princess (backup, pal) it gives me a black screen after i start the game. both games show up normally at the channel selection page. some wii disc also seem to not load sporodically, although it seems to be the same disc that have these errors.

1 more question, is the update disc not suppose to load anymore after update is finished? whenever i load the update 1.9b disc now, i hear to "sega" sound play but it gives no signal to the screen. should i upgrade to 1.9g? i have hesitated since its a beta fix n i have yet to play super mario galaxy.

EDIT: i just checked around n i may have a bad dump for my zelda backup since the file size does not match Nintendo Wii ISO size: 4.37 GB (4,699,979,776 bytes).

i also forgot to mention that i tried a japanese version of a cooking mama back up n it too fails at the exact same place (the white beginning screen when the ripples JUSt start to appear)

thanks for all your help!

You can't use the update disc after the latest firmware update... read this faq: http://psx-scene.com/forums/wiikey/61302...unofficial.html

have read the faq, thanks! but i still cant seem to get zelda (pal) to work nor NTSC cooking mama. should i turn region override off? but i have heard once i do that i cant boot config disc anymore... setting DVDR at 3X didnt help at all also. i am about to try super mario galaxy, needing to install 1.9g beta, so i will see if that helps any... btw its impossible to break wii if i update it via its own internet connection instead of disc am i correct?

I'm almost certain that NTSC-U Cooking Mama does NOT work on NTSC-J Wii. I've tried it before, it just hangs after the creating save file screen.

As for Zelda, I have not tried the PAL version, but the NTSC-U version works perfectly fine on my Wii.
