warning for utter newbie-ness at all this....

I've been successfully burning DVDs with Nero , but before that tried Roxio, and some other softwares (SlyFox, AnyDVD)...had a power failure recently and now, whenever I insert a blank DVD, a pic of a little green CD appears/disappears next to my cursor, and the whole system grinds to a halt...it looks like the one that used to appear with CyberLink/Power DVD...I thought I'd uninstalled everything associated with those programmes (don't see them in the registry) but apparently not...any suggestions what they might be calling themselves, so I can get them out?

its also causing burns to fail...the Nero codes just fine, but then I get a "no disc" error

there's a couple of registry entries that look...related, maybe?

Gabest
DivXNetwork
Sonic
Sonic Solutions

should I have two Sonic entries with Nero? what is DivX Network? Gabest?

Remove Roxio trails.

I think Roxio and Sonic are one and the same.

Also 'InCd' if that was installed same time as Nero.

Might not hurt to get the Nero Clean Tools and do a fresh install of nero as well as run CCleaner on your system.
