A few questions regarding my new Wiikey

Ok I have my Wiikey in the mail right now I just wanted to check a few things before I install it.

1. My Wii has not had a firmware update done on it for quite some time. Its is telling me I should connect and download the update, should I update the firmware via the internet before installing the Wiikey?

2. Will having my Wii connected to my Wireless network vis Connect24 harm anything once my Wiikey is installed?

3. From all the posts I have read I should probably pick up some goos DVD-R media. I have some Maxell -R that I have gone through 100 of with not one coaster but I am thinking of ordering some Verbatim -R from NewEgg for my Wii stuff. Would this be a correct move?

Everything else I think I have a firm grasp on mainly from reading a lot of helpful posts on this forum. Thanks for all the great information!

1. Where possible ALWAYS update via the internet as it's safer for your Wii than updating from a disk in particular if the game is from another region other than your Wii. At this time it's best to keep your Wii fully updated regardless of whether you have a chip fitted or not. It should make no difference. When you install your Wiikey update the firmware to 1.9g and use the config disk to enable region free etc.

3. Verbatim -R is my choice at this time as I've had no coasters as yet. I have had some success with other disks as well and when I had failure I found it was good to have a +RW or -RW around cos one or both of those seem to work with every game giving some check on the integrity of the image.
