A couple of weeks ago, i got a modified psp with firmware 3.71m33-2 and was pretty happy. After a while i realized that certain games and most notably all psx eboots would not work on it. after trying many things, i came to the conclusion that maybe the psp did not have the 1.5 patch and that was the reason that i was having trouble.

After lots of consideration and reading, i came to the conclusion that 3.71 m33-2 was not my cup of tea and decided to downgrade to 1.5. when i ran the down grader from the recovery menu, when the program was working, it showed an error for almost everything it attempted and i think that it said panic several times, one of which was when it messed with something called an ipl.

now, whenever i try to turn on my psp, the green light turns on and after several seconds of inaction, goes back of again. I am not too sure but i think this is a full brick.

i hear that Pandora batteries and these "magic" sticks can be used to return back to 1.5 from a brick, my questions are the following:

1. are there cases that the Pandora battery fails to recover a psp?

2. I have an adapter to connect my pro stick duo to my computer and before i bricked my psp, i formatted it, can i create a battery with just these without needing an additional psp?

3.I just want to play iso/cso and psx games, none of that fancy stuff, is 3.52m33-4 better for me than 3.71m33-3

Any answer/help/sympathy that you guys could give would be much appreciated.

BTfan, since you seem to be the most active currently im going to address this to you.

is it a MUST to have a second psp to create the battery?

does not having the 1.5 patch prevent certain games and psx games from working?

Thanks in advance for any answer you can provide me.

It is not a MUST. If you don't have one then you can use this guide - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/591203#3571746

Do you have a slim or a phat psp?

Slim psp cannot be downgraded to 1.5.
And if you are in Singapore,I can help you unbrick it for free.

Edit:Yes,you can enter USB mode in Recovery mode by selecting Toggle USB.(The first option)
