I want to mod my wii at a local shop.
They charge 150 for installation the chip and 5 free games.
Is this worth it?
Also I'm a bit skeptical about the d2c key because it's upgradeable so should I worry if new games won't work on it and is there any other types of chips available for D2c.
I'm only assuming that my wii is D2c because of the website were you type in the serial number says 50% chance it's D2c and my wii is pretty new and bought a few weeks ago is this a safe assumption?

Eh....the only thing I would be concerned about is a raid on the shop while they are doing your install (eh, if your in the states).

If that price includes the chip and the install (+/- the games, I suppose), then its not bad, considering the chip + shipping will be an upwards of $60+, and the install isn't the easiest in the world.

AFAIK , the chip is unupgradeable, but I think this chip was deisnged to be a tad more stealth than its WiiKey etc counterparts (serial port vs. straight injection onto corresponding points.

This is just a n00bs perspective though. The guys around here will probably give you more definitive answers ~.~

I'd do a search on your last comment...
