Ok I'm in dire need of help here, everything I do doesn't work. I've been reading these forums for over a week about this subject. This is my first post ever.
I rec'd a wii modded with a wii key. I'm assuming the wii is a U.S. wii because that's were I bought it. So I've only been burning NTSC discs.
My buddy gave me a couple of his backed up games and they worked and I also duplicated those games and they worked so I know the chip is working. But everytime I download and try to burn it I get the same "disc is unreadable message" with that damn question mark.

I used Nero and Imgburn at all types of speeds. I used all types of DVD's but lately I've been sticking with the Verbatim DVD-R because of what I read. All of my discs before burning are in iso format and have the correct # of 469,999,979,776 bytes. I updated my Wii and the Wiikey successfully. I used 3 different computers thinking it was the drive but they are all the results.

If I don't get help soon the Wii is going through a window.

Thanks In advance.

Could be that there's something wrong with the source image... may have been corrupted prior to, or, if it's happening with various ones, during download.

I was thinking the same but would I have the correct amount of bytes and wouldn't I get at least one game to work. I went though at least 10-12 downloads. Thanks for the response.

btw m8 - make sure your Wii firmware is up to date (3.1U) and also your Wiikey firmware (1.9g). It may be that your Wiikey is at an older version which would mean it will read older games but not the latest ones.

Thanks JuniR everything is updated.
I called a few people I new and found out how they received their games. They all said newsgroups and don't use torrents because you never get a correct image. I'll try that tomorrow and let you know how it turns out.

There are so many things wrong with this statement. Your friends are giving you misinformation.

Dunno m8 - might be the client or a particular source but I've never had a problem ever with torrents so I'm just guessing.

JuniR would it be to much to ask you what site you used? And do you pay for the site? Does that make a difference. I'm sure its the same sites. Did you use a wireless connection? I'm using wireless maybe I should hardwire it. Dunno just guessing? I would rather use the torrents there are more to choose from. Thanks for all your replies!

I don't pay for anything m8 lol... will send you a PM. I have used various sites over the years though and haven't had any problems. I don't think it should be a problem over a wireless network either m8.

probably misinterpreted his friends advice - ie there is a good chance depending on your connection speed that the torrent will die before you get it all. or compared to newsgroups where u usually get par files to fix damaged files this luxury is usually unavailable

then with torrents the speeds i have gotten at best are 120-150k/sec where with newsgroups - 2.3 meg/sec so there are other reasons not to use torrents - each to their own lol
