Although I am pretty much a newb as far as PSP CFW is concerned, I have managed to put the 3.71 M33-3 on my slim with no problems. I guess I know how to do 2 things which many don't-- "search" and "read." So thanks to everyone who contributed to my success!

I have a 4 GB Sony Pro duo card, and have copied a couple "backed up" games in both ISO and CSO format to it, everything works great. One thing is puzzling though. When I create a new saved game file from an ISO or CSO game, and then load it again, everything works fine. When I create a new saved game file playing a UMD game and reload it using the UMD, everything also works fine.

But when I try to load my saved game file that I created with a UMD while playing the ISO (in this case, Daxter), it says no saved game file found.

okay, I think I might know the problem but could someone confirm this? I have a European PSP and when I start Daxter from the UMD it says Sony Computer Entertainment Europe at the beginning. The ISO says Sony Computer Entertainment America.

So I'm guessing somehow they are incompatible.

Anyway to change the saved game file or trick the PSP or ISO into thinking they are compatible?? Or do I really have to start Daxter over?
Or should I just make a UMD Dump of my actual UMD? I downloaded the ISO, figuring its legal since I own the actual game.

And as a side-note, I haven't figured out how to get a UMD Dumper to work. Can anyone recommend a program and give me some quick instructions??

Not sure on this one, but why not just play it as the UMD or ISO that does load....

Your problem sounds right though, why not download a copy of the European ISO?

If the torrent says something like Daxter [Eur] then it's European just so you know.

No offense but your comment added nothing. You state right at the beginning "not sure on this one..." so why say anything?? Obviously I have a reason to ask this question, and if you thought about it for a second you probably could figure it out. I have a saved game that I started on the UMD, is about 60 percent complete, and I want to keep playing from that point without having to start over. Make sense??

And I said I was pretty much a PSP CFW newb, not an idiot. If I am smart or computer literate enough to download ISOs, wouldn't you assume I know what the difference between Daxter (EN), Daxter (EUR), or Daxter (J) is??

Any mods or people who can actually answer my question wanna give it a go??

be4dusk, don't be a jerk. Artreyu was offering his help whether you found if helpful or not. His comment, other than your double posting, is the only comment in here which is better than having no insight into your debacle.

As for your problem, you are trying to load a PAL save with an NTSC iso. As Artreyu stated, find a PAL backup for the iso you are looking for or dump your PAL iso.

In the future find some manners and treat the other forum members with a little respect just as you would like to be treated.

I would say your fastest way of correcting this is just make an ISO out of your UMD. Your second solution would be download the EUR verion.

I wasn't being a jerk. I was stating a fact. His entire post added no useful information of any kind. Sorry if I came across as being rude, but when I come to a forum to ask a question, then I would like someone with knowledge or experience to give me a definitive answer as to what is going on.

"Why not download a copy of the european ISO?"

If I wanted to do that, I wouldn't have posted a question here!!

But thanks Joshewah for giving me a definitive answer. Although I'm not sure where I can find these large houses that you speak of. If you mean politeness, then you mean "manners." (Sorry, but bad spelling in forums is somewhat of a pet peeve. I'm not being a jerk)

As to my second question, can someone give me a short lesson on UMD dumping? A link to a good guide would also be fine. I've tried two different programs without success. I think it said can't load game or something. I have a bunch of UMDs so not having to find and download PAL versions would be really cool.

And sorry for double posting, I couldn't find the edit button.

Thank you all for the time and energy put into the PSP Homebrew scene. I finally feel like my 200 EURO purchase was worth it!!

Spelling fixed.

Being a smart ass isn't a good idea either...

I simply restated what Artreyu wrote so you should be thanking him.

As for your other problem, well... you're smart so why don't you figure it out on your own so we don't waste anymore of your precious time.

I agree with Joshewah, you seem pretty smart, you'll figure it out. I have 3.71M33-3 like you, and I can say you have everything you need for the rip right at your fingertips and this site.

Since everyone else is being rude to you i will help you out.

1) Press the jfhfh button and then go down to fhfgd and select UMD.

2) Connect the PSP to jfhf via hfhfhj and enable the djjff

3) Drag the fjghg over to the fhfghs

4) rename the fhjghf to fjfhg and you are finished.

Dang seems I am having spelling issues as well.

By the way just because someones title is newbie doesn't mean they are new to the PSP scene.

@Artreyu

Welcome to Afterdawn. Glad to see new members are here to help others out. Keep up the good work.

I don't care what any of you say, Artreyu's comment added nothing to this thread. Period.

Once again, I was asking for confirmation from someone who could provide a definitive answer as to whether or not my suspicions were correct. I love how more people chime in on my alleged rudeness then just answer the question at hand. But hey, I guess most of the obvious teenagers here have nothing better to do than to respond to real questions with pointless comments and opinions. What happened to the days when Mods just deleted BS, irrelevant posts?? I like Afterdark but after posting to the PSP forums, I can't help but get the feeling that I'm the only person on her older than 14.

IMHO the only person who actually answered anything in anyway having to do with my original question was Joshewah, and I'm sorry about the "manor/manner" comment, but that was really just a joke.

So all of you please read Artreyu's post through once again, and tell me where he even came close to providing any info that I could use. If he was sure about his answer like Joshewah was, he wouldn't have started off his post saying, "NOT SURE ON THIS ONE..."!!!!!

On top of that, telling me just "download the European one..." is not helpful at all. Once again, why would I ask the question???

And thanks Larrylje. I deciphered your "misspellings" and now have no problems dumping the UMDs.

CLOSE!!!

No offense
but actually I saw pointing out your stupidity so no offense taken. =]

Your the one who didn't think to download the version that you want.

And I'm not sure how computer literate you are, maybe you had to use a forum to download the torrent. I'm not your stalker, but I will be if you would like me to because I am very computer literate.

Like he said.^

And the NOT SURE ON THIS ONE was the only one you had, don't complain and if you want to complain then do it somewhere else not here.

Well at least he's not a dumb ass....=]

To cover myself for telling you to download the European ISO, I can't assume and not everyone is as smart as you, especially me.. Do you think you can find it in your heart to forgive my impurity?

be4dusk...even if you are computer literate your not very bright, why not just download the European ISO and be happy?!
Instead you decide to be a rebel and flam!
Way to be be4dusk...way to be.

And instead of closing this thread why not just close your account?
We don't need you here.

@Larrlje
Let's just say I'm not new to Afterdawn. ;~]

I don't want to get into an argument with a 14 year old who considers himself "very computer literate." I'm 27 and was using computers before you were born, and I don't mean that as a figure of speech. I, like you, have been using Afterdark for quite some time as a reference, usually the guides and answers are so good I don't need to ask my own questions. You didn't answer my question, just suggested doing something else. How is that help??

I'm not a rebel and I wasn't flaming, just telling you that I wanted a definitive answer to my question, not some unrelated suggestion. And assuming that I don't know what [EUR] means is just that, a stupid assumption and you know what they say about that.

I got my answer, I'm all good, so let's all move on with our lives.

By the way, its "impuNity, not impuRity." The "R" is up here and the "N" down here so I don't think it was a typo, but hey, now I'm assuming.

Have a fun life.

This will be the last time I look at this thread.

Thank you all for your help.

Kidding, but no I mean impurity.

Because I'm not perfect and not as Godly and PURE like you, be4dusk...Maybe when I grow up I can be like you!

And your welcome for your help!

I'm such a good person...=]
I think I will smile myself to sleep tonight.

be4dusk will you send me a picture of yourself so I can hang it on the "Hero" part of my wall?
