After installing the wiikey chip onto my wii i can run real wii games but cant run any of the config disks or the update disk. I have updated my wii to the latest firmware and had tried tdk disks and other dvds with ritek ink at varryin speeds using pretty much every method i can find on these forums. (multi game boot disk, using fixsize/filechop etc). and i dont have 1 of the lg dvd drives u apparently need to make a backup game so i cant try that.
anyone please have summat else i can try? i have a large stack of coasters now.
Use this to create multi-disc and then launch config disc from there. From what I have read after you update the Wii past I believe 3.0 it has a problem recognizing the wiikey config disc, something to do with the region seetings or something like that.
Would it really be the workarounds that are required, the updates should still work with 3.x, isn't just the config disks that wont and most backups should work as well (I think), you could try the two workarounds, I would also suggest buying some different media and trying different writing speeds.
Heres links to the two threads on here about the workarounds,
Thanks for ur suggestions guys. i tried all to no avail. my firmware was 3.1e. so i conclude that my chip is either duff or still isnt fitted correct. so im gonna admit defeat and just send my wii off and get it done proply just to b sure b4 i balls the whole thing up. (at least i can still play originals atm).
anyway cheers for ur suggestions.
