I've gone through so many forums and tutorials.. all of them contradicting one another.

So I thought I would try asking for myself.

Is there a PSX emulator that can be run smoothly on the slim PSP, with no bugs or anything?

Thanks in advance, Gwazl

Yes, I know.

I was planning on buying a pandora battery and a magic memory stick with 3.71 M33-3 via ebay after I ordered my psp.

But I would like to know if it's possible to play PSX games on the slim first.

If not I'm going to find a fat one instead.

Slim PSP's can play PSX games as well. Sony put the PSX emulator built in to the firmware so it's possible on both Fat and Slim as long as you have a custom firmware. You could download them from the PSN too but that requires a PS3..

Marlino is right. Although you might want to get CFW for the other things it can do, you dont need it to play PSX games. Just go to the PSN web site and you can buy some PSX games and play em on your PSP. I think a web site for the PC came out but im not so sure...

You don't need an emulator to play PS1 games on your PSP Slim. Just get the disc image, convert it to an EBOOT (I recommend Simple Popsloader GUI by Zinga Burga) and you can play it, flawlessly.

You do need custom firmware if you want to get games that aren't offered on the website one of the posters mentioned or if you don't want to pay for games you already have.

I was mainly looking to play Final Fantasy 7-9. [ I already own these games]

Are those able to be played on a slim PSP with no custom firmware?
