I have broken my psp and can no longer charge the battery through the ac adapter. if i charge the battery in someone elses it works fine. The problem is I plugged in another AC adapter with the wrong polarity, I think I have damaged a fuse within it, and I think I have worked out which one, beside the power connector but I would like to confirm this, has anyone out there fixed the same issue, or have a schematic diagram for the PSP that I could follow.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Then it's not the PSP that is broken. But do you mean someone else's AC adaptor or outlet?
If it's someone else's outlet then it means that your outlet is broken
If it's someone else's charger then your charger is broken.

Well common sence would be replacing the power board. You need to take the faceplate off to do so. There are other options too.. If you want to, you can just buy a separate battery adaptor that charges the battery externaly so it doesn't have to be in your PSP. That'd save you time and maybe even money..
But if you're not interested in the adaptor, I'd be glad to find you a guide to replace the power board.

No its my PSP thats broken. If I charge my battery using my AC adapter in someone elses machine it works fine in my machine. Its just the charging and using the Power from AC directly that doesnt work. Now I suspect that there is a fuse in the top right of the board which I could just jump if necessary but I want to verify this. If someone knows what they are doing can they open their PSP and go to the top right, where the AC adapter yellow plug, runs off on a lead to a white plug. Just beside this plug on the right is its output to the main board, the very first component you see on the left of this plug I believe to be a fuse as mine is reading Open Circuit. Can someone put a multimeter on this component on their machine and see what it reads. Does it have resistance, is it a Zener Diode with a specific voltage, or is it a fuse. Thanks

Exactly so that means that your AC adapter is broken.

Yeah, better than buying a new PSP.
PSP Slim: Piano Black, 3.90 M33 + Sony 8GB MSPD
Airsoft Gun Of Choice: ICS M4 R.I.S. Baby!

I just posted about this and I cant figure out what the deal is. Mine started doing it after downgrading with a pandora battery. I bought a external battery charger for like 9 bucks off ebay and that works but it just sucks that i cant finish playing a game when the battery dies I have to take it out and charge it.

The best idea would be to contact Sony. Like hoip said, no one has a schematic diagram but let's say someone gives you one, you won't be 100% sure it works or if it even fits your problem.
If you still have the one year warranty, contact Sony and ask them.
If your warranty is expired, buy a external battery charger or sell your PSP for parts or so on eBay and buy the PSP Slim (PSP 2000).
