if i have a d162 drive...is there need to update my kreon firmware???

which 162 do you have? the d162c will work with the kreon firmware. if you want to rip your original games with the drive, then yes, you will need to flash the drive with the kreon firmware unless you bought it pre-flashed.

The old kreon version .81 seems to be working fine still. No reason to upgrade it unless you like the newest and greatest.
