Please Help with burning 360 files from newsgroups

Hey guys,I'm a longtime lurker>>> New member here.... I'm having a new problem with burning my 360 games..... I'm not a total noob....I've been doing this for a long time...up until this point I've used torrent sites or rented games and copied them myself....I have ALWAYS ended up with two files... a dvd file and an Iso file.....all ive ever had to do is run the Iso through NME associator to allow my chip to read it then it was game time....My new problem is this....I've just started to use news groups and have tried to download a game 3 times now.... after I download it i end up with nine files total.... eight named IMAGE.000, IMAGE.001 and so on...then an IMAGE.dvd file.....so I'm thinking great...just use an ISO building program such as magic iso (ive tried several) and compile it into one ISO to use when I burn....Well, Ive had no luck with this....A friend sugested a joining program called hjsplit to join them...tried it, doesnt work.....can somone please explain to me what I'm supost to do with these files....I've done pleanty of reading but all of the info shows how to burn with an ISO file and a DVD file (Like I'm used to)...I've tried different things and burned them with no sucess....(360 says disc unreadable)......Could somone please help me out with an explanation so I dont have to keep wasting My expensive dual layer discs.... Welcome to the forum, riffman. Dude, I was doing the same thing as you, trying to use the newsgroups and it was so frustrating. Dude, I would buy a Samsung drive to just rip your original disk with XBC or Schtrom, SO MUCH easier.

do you know how to connect to a newsgroup server?
did you already sign up for one....i use giganews.
then download grabit, this is your newsgroup connection program....like mirc connects you to irc use grabit to connect to giganews.
giganews lets you connect to the room you want
once you have setup your connection in grabit to connect to giganews, you have to pick your room your gonna look on
ie alt.binaries.music....etc
choose the room and it will populate a list of files that you can grab....use grabit to get the files you want.....grab it will compile it into a file, usally a rar archive....then you can open the file and extract your file.....anything else youll have to google.

You arent understanding DB9...yes I know how to use newsgroups...I know how to get the game files....I just dont know what to do with the game files after I get them....Like I stated, I know how to use Schtrom and stuff....I'm used to working with 2 files...a dvd and and iso...when I download from newsgroups I get like 8 image files a gig a piece and one dvd file...I have yet to found a way to burn these files and make them playable with my NME chipped 360....Someone please help...It would be greatly appreciated......Riff

Yes momhoener, I use winrar to unpack the nine files that I was describing......What do I do with them after that??? How do I make the eight files into 1 .ISO that I can burn (like I'm used to)???? thanks for the help.....someone please help!!!!

Well that's the thing DB9....I did try that (I use imgburn)...and it mounted the right size file, so I thought it would be fine....but when I went to play it it says disc was unreadable....So the first thing I though was that it wasnt readable was because it was not converted to NME format for my chip....I wanted to try this but I'm not sure how that would work...because I normally convert the ONE .iso file with NME associator and then it's done....should I convert each one of the image files????? I tried just converting one of them but it didnt work either......I then considered that this may not be my problem at all, maybe the game image was a different region than my 360,the files I downloaded did not specify.... (mine is NTSC)...but that cant be it because according to the sites I go to as guides, the game IS region free.....At this point Im really not sure what to do...all I know is that I dont want to waste 25 dual layer disc to figure it out....it's getting expensive.....Thank you for the reply....I hope you will reply again so I can get this mess straigh......

Dude, spend $75 and buy you a Samsung drive to rip the games, newsgroups are a pain in the butt to deal with, and you know your copies will be good. You don't know what you are Dling off newsgroups.

You are right Stanlane you dont always know what you are getting...I'm not trying to argue the issue here...the fact is, I use newsgroups for more than that....movies and stuff...and I pay for this service...so I would like to find a solution to this, as I would like to use my service to the fullest... and I do own a samsung, and I do rip my own games at times....but money's tight bro...I'm a student...if I can figure out what is going on here, that would be the best option for me...I know it's not rocket science, and there is probably an easy solution...I just dont know what it is...and I dont want to use a ton of expensive dual layers to figure it out through trial and error......I just need the right person to come along that has had this same issue.....thanks again...riff

Know what u are saying Riff. Dude, I rent from Blockbuster, it's great, do you have one nearby. If you don't, give Gamefly a shot, you can get like 8-10 a month if u return them right away.

Yes, stanlane...I know that...I used to to that.... at blockbuster I would have to get a gamepass and a movie pass, and that would be quite expensive....that is all besides the point...point is, I use newsgroups....I get everything I need there for one low monthly charge.....and it maxes out my 1.3mb connection anytime...So I want to STAY doing what I'm doing....I just really need to figure out what to do with those files.....Somebody in the world Knows what to do about this...Please let me know....regards... Hey guys, I didnt mean to start a rumble here.......raysuave, I didnt mean to break any forum rules....Like I said earlier I am new here....I belong to other forums and I'm not one of "those guys".....I really did think it was ok to talk openly about such things here, there are plenty of things i've come across about ripping movies, games ect. that people have commented about....you could say well you should have read the rules, but it can get pretty confusing real fast about what is ok and what is not...especially when discussing "grey" areas....I just had a simple question...and wanted a simple answer....so whever wants or needs to close this thread please do and please do not ban me........and by the way raysuave, I buy pleanty of 360 games...I like to try them first since there is so much crap out there and they are very expensive for me.....And I do buy alot! because Im addicted to xbox live, and I have to have originals for that....thanks again riff

Those 9 .iso files are made from CloneCD.
If you can "waste" a DL disc, you can then extract the image with IMGBurn and it'll become a .iso file (1 .iso file which you can then patch with the NME patch thing)
Maybe you can mount the image (use the first one) with Daemon Tools and then rip and ISO with IMGBurn from the Daemon Tools drive.
And please guys, stop arguing and pirating games. It's a GOD DAMN FELONY to do what you people are claiming you do. Grow up and have some damn sense of responsibilty. This reason is WHY I wish people din't tell other people how to "backup" 360 games. You're ALL going to ruin it for the other people who know WHERE to keep their mouth shut.

Its cool, I was just pointing out the fact that somebody didn't say anything about it earlier like they usually do and then Mr. Online Thug escalated the the whole deal. Like I said before, in my opinion you can do what you do and accept the consequences of your actions, but phrase your questions differently if they even slightly project the idea of piracy so you don't get suspended or banned.
