I have an xbox 360 and was interested in playing backups, but I am very confused. I know that through certain steps and opening the xbox 360, you can flash the drive to allow you to play burned games, but i was just wondering if there is a modchip for the xbox 360 that will allow you to play backups without any kind of flashing. Any advice would be helpful

well, i know there are modchips, especially for the hitachi 79. Im not sure if there is one that just lets you play backups, but i would imagine there is. My guess would be that unless you are planning on paying someone to put it in, you are going to find that the flashing method is probably much easier. infact, you would be suprised how easy it really is. and cheap most of the time. If i were you, i would examine the tutorials on flashing a little more. Its really not that complicated.

Even if someone were to come out with a mod chip, you'd still have to keep the firmware up to date on the modchip, so you're not really helping anything by doing that. There are video instructions on this site that will walk you through step by step of opening and re-flashing your xbox360. It doesn't get much easier than that. Just make sure you user the right discs. I use high quality DVD+R DL discs, and they don't even work right in the Xbox360. The only ones the Xbox 360 really seems to like is Verbatim DVD+R DL. Other brand discs will give you errors through playing, or may not even boot at all.

The Best chip on the market right now is the NME V2.0 by team underdog. Here is a link to their site http://www.nme2.com/. It was released only 2 or 3 weeks ago and I have heard it works well.

i would be easier to flash your drive, i installed the Golbe360 v2 And The NME v2 and there are way too many wires for the globe and only a Few for NME.. but i still think u should just flash the Drive
