does compressing an ISO to a CSO do anything to the gameplay. example is like longer loading times, videos cut out, some stuff missing. I just wanted to know because usually i thought it was just compression like rar or something.

No it doesn't do anything except making it take less space. But some games get laggy when compressed like GTA: Vice City Stories.

This is my personal experience.

CSO saves alot of space and enables you to put more games on MS.

If I use a cso file with reserve on the MS, I have no problems. If I fill the Ms, I have problems.

I fill up my MS and never get that. Always works perfectly, them CSOs. :)

lol but seriously compressing an ISO to CSO format is very impressive, could go down from at least 300MB!
